Jackie co-founded Tanoti with her business partner in 2012 to assume an existing workshop of weavers in order to ensure that songket weaving survives yet another generation. 5 years hence, Tanoti is a multiple award winning social enterprise, known for its contribution to heritage preservation, women empowerment and rural community building. Tanoti’s community initiative through craft development has elevated the livelihoods of many Penan families across more than 20 villages in Sarawak’s highlands. Jackie has a Law degree and a Masters in Finance. She left her investment banking career after 14 years at CIMB, to focus full time on pursuing causes which are important to her. She believes that making a difference is a bigger challenge than making money, but much more impactful. Her story is one of persistence to achieve the dream and commitment to the cause.
